Agassiz Drilling & Blasting

Agassiz is a third generation surface drilling and blasting company first established in 1958. In 1985, Bill Corbett assumed leadership of the company, and today he and his two sons manage all drilling and blasting operations.

Arising out of construction, energy and mining projects which characterized the Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario in the 1950's, Agassiz has become known over the past 53 years for its ability to design and deliver creative and innovative drilling and blasting solutions. Safety, quality and respect for deadlines characterize company operations.

In 2010, Agassiz, in joint venture with the Manitoba Institute of Management Inc., established a professional training program for surface drillers. This diversification recognized the emerging demand for qualified surface drillers across the Canadian Shield, in the construction, energy and mining sectors.
